Just after James Potter and his gang of Marauders finish Hogwarts School, they see just what the dangers of the world outside of the safety of the castle grounds really is. The moment they set foot into the wizarding world, they're thrown into a war that will make them fight everyday to keep who they love safe. A war that was never theirs. Through all of this, through the deaths and the tragedy they must keep their friendships, their love alive and try to keep normalcy in a life that's filled with destruction. Voldemort is intent on destroying everyone that opposes him, it seems like there's no light at the end of the tunnel. Sirius's family have turned their backs on him because he refused to join the Dark Lord's cause. His cousins have become Death Eaters, just like his brother. The only ally he has left within his ranks is his cousin, Andromeda who has fallen in love with the muggle Ted Tonks. He must protect her and himself from his family. The aftermath of him choosing to side with James and Lily instead of The Dark Lord is an extreme one. Returning home is not an option, Sirius must find his own way in the world, and a way to fight for the people that he loves even from those he calls his own kin. James and Lily's love has bloomed since they got together, leaving school the pair decide that the natural next step is to get engaged and to move in together, Severus Snape the boy that's always been in love with Lily Evans turns his heartbreak into rage, vowing to throw himself into his duties with The Dark Lord to get Lily out of his mind, but somewhere inside of him he still holds that torch, a torch that refuses to die out and because of that he makes a silent but eternal vow to be her silent guardian from the evils that she faces without even knowing it.
